Role description

Welcome to the world of data engineering, where the code is clean and the data is mean! As a Data Engineer, you'll be the mastermind behind the scenes, building the data infrastructure that makes everything else possible. From designing and optimizing databases to creating ETL pipelines and implementing cutting-edge technologies, you'll be the driving force that ensures our data is accurate, organized, and ready to be transformed into actionable insights. So if you're ready to roll up your sleeves and dive into the world of data engineering, then we want you on our team!

• As a Data Engineer, you'll be at the heart of our data team, working alongside BI analysts, data scientists, data stewards, and developers to create the systems and tools we need to process and analyze large amounts of data.
• You'll be responsible for defining our big data architecture and infrastructure, determining which data to collect, and ensuring that the right data is collected – whether it's structured data from databases and logs, or unstructured data from free-form sources like PDFs and emails. 
• You'll also be the one responsible for transforming our data, organizing it, and cleaning it, so that our data analysts and scientists can use it to develop and monitor KPIs in a scalable manner.

We're looking for a data fanatic who:

• Has a deep understanding of big data infrastructure, ETL tools, data modeling, and computing platforms like AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud. 
• Has a strong command of SQL and experience working with Hadoop and Spark. Bonus points if you have experience with machine learning.
• In addition to their technical expertise, is also innovative, integrative, decisive, and able to advise and engage with stakeholders at all levels. 
• Is able to work collaboratively with other members of the data team and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Is fluent in English, Dutch and/or French.
