We are currently looking for a Public Sector Consultant to join our team in the Brussels office as a Consultant for one of our European Institututions clients.

YOUR ROLE:

• Support digital transformation projects in the field of Customs;
• Contribute to feasibility studies of customs IT applications from a business perspective, through your deep understanding of customs legislation, procedures and formalities, industry needs, processes, information flows, etc.;
• Contribute to the assessment, mapping and transformation to optimise day-to-day customs operations, working methods, processes and organisations.
• Be involved in our consulting services and carry our activities such as:
• Support clients in strategically upskilling staff working in the field of Customs formalities;
• Learn how to translate customs related business needs into functional requirements;
• Support impact assessments on evolutions in customs legislation;
• You will take part in building and delivering proposals for our clients;
• Get exposed to clients and their stakeholders (e.g. Customs Administrations, EU Commission, Trade, Cargo companies) and join workshops;

YOUR PROFILE:

• Master degree or equivalent (Bac+5) in the field of Customs Law, Logistics and International Trade, International Supply Chain and Customs, or similar background, etc.
• 5 years of experience in the customs area.
• Knowledge on Customs procedures, legislation (e.g. Union Customs Code) and/or international trade.
• Interested in working on projects within the public and logistics sector, experience in one of these sectors during previous internships is considered a plus.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and writing, in English.

NICE TO HAVE:

• Previous experience in an international organization in the custom field (DG TAXUD, WCO, etc.) or national customs administration
• Experience with the Customs IT systems (CIS)
• Experience in the implementation of IT systems in the Customs field such as implementation of Single Window systems for Customs.
• Experienced in the European Institutions environment
