Data Engineer - Analyst

As we move ahead in the digital era, the decision-making process becomes increasingly more complex and fully data-driven. Data wizards have become indispensable. For a client active in materials for clean mobility and recycling, we’re currently looking for someone to combine the roles of Data Engineer (60%) and Data Analyst (40%).

  • As a Data Engineer, you design, implement and continuously improve relevant dimensional data models into a data warehouse to enable self-service analytics for the end users. As a Data Analyst, you act as an expert to train and develop end users and engage in cross-functional teams.
  • You assess end-user data needs, design and implement the most relevant dimensional data models using Microsoft Azure and TimeXtender
  • You provide expert advice on data extraction, data transformation and data load to enable transforming those data into BI dashboards
  • The more complex BI dashboards, you create yourself or with your team
  • You train and develop a network of self-service analytics key users
  • You define, implement and monitor adherence to strict data governance rules

We’re looking for a digitally inspired data wizard who enjoys working with people. You have expert-level skills in business analysis and in applying agile methodologies such as scrum. Your managerial skills allow you to lead a cross-functional team.

Furthermore:

  • You hold a Master’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Applied Computer Sciences, Applied Economics or a related area
  • You have experience with Project and Program Management, functional requirements definition and research & innovation
  • You’re able to synthesize a number of data and come to clear conclusions
  • You can handle miscellaneous tasks simultaneously
  • You’re willing to travel abroad for specific assignments
  • You’re fluent in Dutch and English

You’ve got ample technical skills

  • Knowledge of dimensional data models, data management and cloud computing
  • Experience with self-service analytics tools: Power BI and/ or QlikSense
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Azure and TimeXtender is an asset
