B-Box UX Data Engineer

Are you passionate about the new LAN technologies based on IP networks in our customers' homes (e.g. via the bbox3), or do you like the latest developments in Wi-Fi, home gateways and routers in general? Then in this position you can help define and technically validate the evolutions to give our customers the best "user experience" everywhere in the house.

The aim is to always be able to offer our Proximus customers the most interesting and innovative IP connectivity for their internet, TV and voice communication services, in a user-friendly way, also based on automatic remote configuration systems. This is done in close collaboration with our customer department, other engineering teams and product management colleagues to jointly define technical solutions, evaluate proposals from suppliers. Focus is also increasing on the measurement and collection of technical data from our bboxes to evaluate the evolution of the user experience, especially around the stability and speed of the internet services offered on the bbox3s.

You can plan and coordinate the engineering tasks required to ensure proper analysis and evaluation to operate correctly on the planned launch date, in collaboration with other technical and project teams from Network Business Unit (NBU), Customer Operations (CUO) and Consumer Business Unit (CBU) as well as our third-party suppliers.

You will therefore work together with colleagues in the b-box/home gateway engineering team for the following activities:

• Analysing new service requests and helping to define technical solutions to allow a fast and above all customer-friendly plug and play installation at the residential customer.
• Evaluation of suppliers' bbox/home gateway solutions based on technical requirements.
• Measuring user experience data from our bbox3s and home gateways and setting up relevant reporting and queries together with our internal data analysts.
• Analyse problems, follow up and verify possible solutions or workarounds with the supplier.
• Technical coordination of part of the b-box engineering activities.

Profile:

• Master or Bachelor in Telecom/Electronics/IT or equivalent through experience.
• Interesting knowledge or experience in xDSL modems, Home Gateways, IP home networking, WiFi, routers, firewalls & switches, IP network protocols, QOS on L2 and L3 networks.
• Interested in setting up data analysis and reporting for large amounts of bbox3 data (SQL queries, XLS, …).
• Problem analysis and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in technical requirements analysis and making technical specifications and description of solutions.
• Personal skills: result-oriented, good planning and communication skills (written, oral), quality-oriented, good sense of responsibility, autonomous working method and team player.
• Language skills: written reporting in English, also Dutch and/or French in spoken language.
